AFRICA JAM CAMP

2010

For five life changing, fun filled days at Africa Jam Camp, campers learned about God's love and their potential to be community leaders. Camp was held at beautiful Rocklands in Simons Town. This was our 9th camping season.  Former 2001 Africa Jam campers, Karin VanWyk and Malize Lombard were the camp directors.

Hiking was one of the many choices campers could choose to participate in.  Other favorite camp activities was the vibrant praise and worship, swimming, games and small group discussions.
Vacations with Purpose LLC, brought 28 Minnesotans to visit the Khayelitsha Community Center and meet kids before we joined them for camp.
This years theme was "Africa Jam United" Over 180 individuals signed the banner as a symbol that although we are from different communities, countries, speak different languages, we are UNITED by our common love for God.
Pastor Jeff Lindsay from Colonial Church in Edina, MN was the evening speaker. Thank you Pastor Jeff for inspiring a new generation of community leaders and giving them the opportunity to consider a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and deepen their faith!

Baobab Blast, the theme for Augsburg Fortress' Vacation Bible School, invites kids to share the joy of God’s community by making a difference in the lives of kids in Africa that are their own age. This mission project connected to Baobab Blast is entitled Africa Jam.

Africa Jam connects your VBS community with kids in need. Help your community understand how to help new friends that live way outside their zip code.
